John has been with the company for 8 years and has worked his way up through just about every position in preconstruction. Starting as an “Assistant PM” (a.k.a. receptionist with a fancy title), then becoming our very first Estimating Coordinator in 2017. From there, he moved into an Estimator role, became Lead Estimator in 2022, and took the reins as Chief Estimator in 2024.
In his current role, John leads our estimating team, making sure every proposal we send out is sharp, accurate, and competitive. He’s passionate about supporting the team and helping them grow, both professionally and personally. Watching projects take shape from the early design phase is one of his favorite parts of the job. He loves getting a sneak peek into what the future will look like before ground is ever broken.
John graduated from Texas Tech (Guns up!) with a B.A. in University Studies focused on Communication, Organizational Leadership, and Political Science. He also holds an A.A. in General Studies from Collin College.
When you ask John what makes estimating rewarding, he’s quick to shout out his team. The camaraderie, the shared wins, the growth he gets to witness, it all makes the grind worthwhile. And yes, hitting team goals comes with some pretty great trips too. They work hard and play harder!
Originally from Farmersville, Texas, John is always finding ways to make people laugh. Speaking of laughter, he once did a full five-minute standup comedy set at a club in Plano. He’s also competed in strongman competitions and even took 1st place in his group at the 2023 Ronnie Coleman Classic in Fort Worth!
These days, his weekends are mostly spent soaking up time with his wife and three awesome kids. Whether they’re watching movies, having dance parties, or jamming out together, John is all about family and fun.
